Reptile visitors!

In Science we have been finding out about different animal groups, including reptiles. Reptiles are cold-blooded, have scaly skin, and lay eggs.

Ruby's Dad brought in a panther chameleon called George to see us! These chameleons live in trees in Madagascar. They eat insects. They can change colour to hide themselves as protection; this is called camouflage.

We all hid to try to pretend we weren't there, hoping that George might feed, but he couldn't be tempted...

Ruby's Dad also brought in Issy the bearded dragon, who lives in the desert in Australia. We were able to stroke her because her skin is not so delicate as the chameleon's. She has more protection because she lives on the ground so has to protect herself against attack.

A big thank you from us all to Ruby's Dad for bringing in these wonderful animals.
